Snow Skiing
Where can i find a list or an exercise program to do before going snow skiing?
going skiing end of january and have never been. i need a list specifically for this purpose to do til then please.
All activities that get you on your feet and moving your legs and feet. Jump rope, dancing, walking, running, bicycle, swimming will all help. Since you have about 6 weeks, you should be able to do it with no problems. Add a program at the gym for core strength and flexibility. Get down on the floor and get up a couple of dozen times a day, learn how to do it with nothing to hold on to or use for balance. For balance exercises, hop from foot to foot with your eyes closed, do 2 footed hops and land in place without falling or moving around. Keep your chin up, and your knees and ankles flexed. Learn and practice wall sits, 10 – 15 seconds at a time 4x then rest, do 6 sets at a time. This should be a daily program for the time until your trip. Get a friend to work with you. This really helps in the balance drills and the hop drills.
When you get to the destination, take a series of lessons from the ski school that includes the equipment. Your boots should fit tight around the foot and ankle, wear one pair of socks only. Search answers for what to wear skiing, and take skiing. Take money and your dancing shoes. Multiple layers of thin clothes are warmer than one thick layer. Enjoy the social aspects of the sport as much as the snow. Have fun.
