Solo Thrift will be pleased to learn that eating out in Tenerife is cheap, with many restaurants catering to British and continental tourists on a budget. But if you want to taste local specialties, try puchero Canario, a rich stew, papas arrugadas potatoes and the tasty red or green mojo sauces.

The island's best restaurants located in the suburbs, so it's worth renting a car, if you are looking for something a bit 'special. El Monasterio, Los Realeois, set in a converted monastery is a stable atmosphere, while El Meson Dragon Tequste offers fine cuisine and spectacular views of Canary.

The resorts of Tenerife offers a cheerful nightlife, with pubs, karaoke bars and nightclubs on offer to keep everyone entertained. La Laguna, located near Santa Cruz is a lively place, full of bars and live music.

Tenerife is packed with well-established resort, which offers accommodation to suit every need and budget. If money is no object and you are looking for a unique position of control in Parador de Canadas del Teide, which is located in the volcanic park, with room rates starting from 120 € per night. Meanwhile, tourists on a budget may prefer something a little 'more practice and the bass clef, as the Hotel Colon Rambla, which is a three star hotel, set around a swimming pool, and only two minutes walk from the port and ten minutes from Playa de las Teresitas.
