I actually go skiing each year in the month of December. I live in Orlando as well. Search North Carolina. They ski really cheap and the hotels and reservations are relatively cheap there. We went with a group of Blowing Rock and was a great time! That is the nearest place to ski without going much further north. Or, there are always the Smokey Mountains in TN.
