Two Womens
Compare and/or contrast two different kinds of careers for womens?
Kinds is hard to define so lets go with “Women’s Work” and “Men’s Work”.
Women’s work being work the works around the skills women generally have like nurturing and detail orientation. They are normally low barrier to entry and low paid. Examples might be social worker, day care provider, administrative assistant, retail clerk, bank teller, nurse at any level, bookkeeper, accounting clerk, elementry or preschool teacher.
Generally you can get started with a 4 year degree or sometimes less and the jobs pay between minimum wage and 70K or so. They don’t have very much danger or really heavy lifting and you generally get to stay clean.
Men’s work on the other hand is work with either more education, or danger or heavy lifting and you get dirty. Examples might be welder, steel worker, doctor, CPA, lawyer, architect, longshoreman, lineman, engineer, teacher of older children or adults, dentist, CEO. The jobs pay better than the traditional women’s work.
Women can stay in the traditional jobs and earn less money but might like the work better. Women can also take traditional men’s jobs and make more money. Some don’t want to put in more education or get dirty at work or tired.
Taking a man sized job with a man sized paycheck may not be worth it or fit in a chosen lifestyle. If a woman were to become say a brain surgeon she might be in college and internships until she was nearly 30 before the first good job. Then have huge student loans so might not have babies until she was over 30 then couldn’t afford time off to be home with them. So the kids are raised by the husband or in daycare. If she only went to 4 years of college she would be done at 24 have student loans paid off after a couple of years and be able to afford children sooner and spend more time with them.
